 Rules for Promotion to Higher Classes ( B.Tech) 
For B. Tech 1st Year Students- 
They must score 50% of total (i.e. min 27 credits) Credits in both semester for 
promotion to 2nd  Year in all branches. 
For B. Tech 2nd Year Students- 
They must score 90% of total (i.e. min 48 credits) Credit in the 1st year and 50% of 
total (i.e. min 28 credits in CSE, ECE, EEE, IT & in MAE-29 Credits) Credit in the 
2nd  year for promotion to 3rd  year. 
For B. Tech 3rd Year Students (batch 2009)- 
They must Score 90% of total Credit in the 2nd  year and 50% Credit in the 3rd  year 
for promotion to 4th  year.

Academic Breaks-

detention    for  shortage    of  attendance  (75%   Attendance   is   mandatory   for   the 
students   to appear in End-Term  Examination.)  or deficiency of credits  during the 
completion     of  the  course/programme.    More     than  two   academic   break   means 
cancellation of admission. 
Note: - In case of academic break in any year, the student will be promoted to next 
year only after securing 90% of the total credits of the previous years.

After buying the BIKE the above 3 questions are normal to come in mind. Usually the first BIKE service need to be done from 500km - 750km. This is because the bike is new and its parts are new, piston of the bike needs time to get its normal position. Usually the normal wear and tear of the parts come in this 500-750km because the engine is new and being tested by you. So in first service the Mechanic checks for the fault in Bike , parts etc.

2)  What is done in FIRST Service of BIKE ?

First Bike service is FREE from the company[Only Labour Charge is exempted]. In first service of Bike, the mechanic do the following operations:-

1) Replaces the Engine Oil.

2) Tight the spare parts of the Bike.

3) Wash it with HYDRO-JET

4) Check for some faults.

Usually FIRST Service takes from 1hour-8hour depending upon the rush on the service center or workshop you visited.

Students who fail to get 50 % credit in the year will be Detained as per the University Law.
And a student who fails to clear 90% credit of the previous year will be given a second chance under SUPPLEMENTARY EXAM to get 90%+ credit in the previous year.

Last year SUPPLEMENTARY EXAM(2012)  was very easy and almost 95% cleared there Backlogs. The 50% credit and 90% credit rule is for all the courses of GGSIPU.

Supplementary Exam will be conducted only for the students who have cleared there 50% credit in the current year and fails to clear 90% credit of the previous year.

     To solve this Problem IITs jointly have a debate and decided that GATE 2014 have to be two tier exam-

GATE 2014 MAIN-- Objective type test of 100 marks as previous GATE exams.

GATE 2014 ADVANCE- May be subjective + Objective type exam.

GATE 2014 MAIN Ranklist will be shared by the PSUs and other institutes, Whereas GATE 2014 Advance will merely for admission in IITs M.Tech or PHDs or Mtech+PHD [Dual Degree].

GATE 2014 MAIN is also going to be ONLINE for all the 21 streams that will be a very big task for the IIT Kharagpur to accomplish it. As the Popular branches like Computer Science, ECE, EE have lakhs of students to sit for the GATE 2014 Exams.

Let's see what will be the Official announcements for GATE 2014, as till now only rumours are there about the changing pattern in the GATE 2014.

GATE 2014 to be conducted by IIT Kharagpur which is one of the 7 old IITs. And there is a news from the students there that the GATE 2014 is to be going Online for all 21 streams. last year i.e. 2013 GATE 2013 was OFFLINE exam except for Civil Engineers and few others. But this year i.e.  GATE 2014 will going to be ONLINE. 

      GATE is the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineers which facilitates or provides opportunity to get admitted in M.tech, PHDs and get PSUs jobs.
